Alex Hoveln
President [email protected] Alex holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural and Consumer Economics from the University of Illinois, with a minor in Leadership Studies. He is currently working on consulting projects through the Innovation Consulting Community at Illinois State. He is also involved with the Graduate Student Advisory Council. He hopes to help grow the MBA Association by increasing student participation. He would like to help other MBA students network with industry experts, grow as professionals, and succeed in the program. In the future, Alex would like to work in Financial Planning for a successful Wealth Management firm. He would like to provide his clients with holistic financial planning to help prepare them for life’s expected (and unexpected) events. In his spare time, Alex enjoys traveling to new places, spending time with family and friends, attending concerts/sporting events, and helping on the family farm. Director of Career Services Position Vacant Kelly Villarin
Director of Communications [email protected] Kelly holds a Bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology from Illinois State University, which she earned in 2017. Since then, Kelly has returned to Illinois State University to earn her MBA. As the Director of Communications, Kelly aims to expand the MBA Association to be larger than it has ever been. She loves facilitating the different events that the association has to offer, as she feels that they are a great opportunity for MBA students to network and get to know one another. Upon graduation, Kelly hopes to build her career in either marketing or human resources. She is interested in working in healthcare, and she wants to be of service to disadvantaged groups who have limited or complete lack of access to basic healthcare services. In her free time, Kelly enjoys spending time with family and friends, volunteering, reading, working out, and meeting new people. |
Amanda Gosbeth
Vice President [email protected] Amanda earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with minors in Marketing and Economics from the University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS). During the Summer of 2016, she worked as a compliance intern at Midwest Insurance Company. After graduating in May 2017, she worked as an Underwriting Associate at Midwest Insurance Company. Currently she works as a Graduate Assistant at Illinois State University for the Business Department where she is responsible for promoting, developing and maintaining the Redbird Career Portfolio. She hopes to promote the MBA Association to become larger than it ever has been in the past. She believes the increase in the number of members and activities will create more important connections and experiences for students. Amanda would like to work as a business/financial analyst for a successful company. She hopes to help a business grow with her analytical abilities, and be able to find ways for a company to increase their productivity and/or cut costs. In her free time, Amanda loves playing any type of sport. She played softball during undergrad, and misses playing sports every day. Hanging out with friends is her favorite thing to do. She also likes to ride bikes, hike, watch movies, and listen to music. Paul Frieh
Treasurer [email protected] Paul received his Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Systems Management from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2016. Since graduating, he has worked as a Production Manager for Frito Lay and an Outbound IOL Specialist for Amazon. He currently works as Graduate Assistant for the Business Department where he helps manage the Redbird Career Portfolio. Within the MBA Association, Paul hopes to increase engagement and create new opportunities for MBA students. He believes that networking and making the right connections are an integral part of career success, and hopes to expand the resources available to MBA students to help meet their career goals. After graduation, Paul would like to work as a Project Manager or Strategic Planner within the Renewable Energy/Sustainability industries. In his free time, Paul likes to play with his cats, play bass guitar, attend concerts, and hike. Maimuna Akter
Director of Social Programs [email protected] Maimuna is currently in her first year of the MBA Program at Illinois State University. Being a member of MBA Association, she would like to get involved in promoting the MBA program and the College of Business at Illinois State University. As Director of Social Programs, she would love the opportunity to give students her insight and to help arrange activities such as networking, leadership development, relationship building, voluntary works and career advising. After completing her MBA, Maimuna hopes to pursue her PhD in Risk Management and Insurance at a US business school. In her free time, she likes to watch movies and read Bengali Literatures. |
